Scholastic Programme

The Primary Years Programme

NPS Sadashivanagar is committed to imparting quality education at every stage of student life.

Subject mastery for the students of Grades 1-5 is achieved through enquiry-based learning, group discussions, projects and case-based studies that inspire students to take ownership of learning and bring about a research-oriented approach to the subject.

Traditional examinations are replaced with continuous and comprehensive assessment pattern to check the learning progress of the child and adopt appropriate learning intervention and reinforcement programs.

The Reading Programme for Grades 1-5 is curriculum-based and helps nurture students’ love for reading. Students are encouraged to read a wide variety of books independently.

The programme is designed to develop the critical reading skills of students.

The EBL programme helps students learn Science through hands-on activities.

First Edition provides the Grade 4 students with a platform to draft and publish their first novel under the guidance of their language teachers.

Yoga, music, dance, craft, cookery and a host of other activities are interwoven into the curriculum framework to expose the children to pursuits other than academics.

The Secondary Years Programme

The learning framework of the Middle Year programme is structured to expose the students to experiences and opportunities that tap and encourage the development of their latent talents. Curricular and co-curricular activities complement the academic learning programme to develop students into confident and well-rounded individuals.

The school follows continuous and comprehensive system of evaluation. Every year, four examinations are conducted apart from the subject enrichment activities, theory and practical tests. Projects and Viva are also an inherent part of the continuous evaluation pattern.

Recognising the need for awareness of current affairs and the constantly changing social, cultural and economic environment, the daily perusal of newspapers is promoted through the ‘Newspaper-in-Education’ (NIE) programme.

The Young Entrepreneurship programme provides Grade 6 students with an opportunity to nurture their business acumen. They conduct extensive market surveys before pitching their business ideas through presentations and cost analysis to prospective investors.

Parent Engagement Programme (PEP) are organised to encourage constructive involvement of parents in the growth and development of the student community.

The Writing Progress targets developing the writing skills of Middle School students in a structural manner. With mind maps, graphic organisers and teacher-guided vocabulary-building activities, students work their way through multiple drafts to finally arrive at their final piece. Students create a portfolio of their written assignments, which include descriptive writing, recount of narrative writing and persuasive writing under the programme in an academic year.

Students are encouraged to participate in Science, Quiz, Theatre, Literary, Art or Dance Clubs based on their areas of interest.
